Whenever the evil Dr. Vandertramp spoke, it was like the successive springing and re-calibration of a steel trap. His articulation was deadly accurate, with a certain menacing quality which, like a trap, was hard to place until it was too late. He might have been a lawyer, in another life, had his interests included the laws he so often defied.
