Consider this an invitation

 

A person pulls aside a curtain and looks out the window, where the sky has been replaced with the alpha channel familiar to those who spend too much time editing images using layers. It's a white-on-grey checker pattern that shows wherever pixels aren't and under pixels that are at less than 100% opacity. The person says, "The sky is doing that thing again."
